Frequently Asked Questions

How much is the lure?

The lure package costs $39. This comes with a polycarbonate head, three polyester bodies, 100 lb mono and a 7/0 J hook.

How big is the lure?

The lure measures 8” and weighs 1.4 ounces. It is NOT a casting lure. We do plan however to make a smaller version of this lure this year, which will be castable.

How fast can you troll?

We suggest between 3 – 7 knots. We do know some anglers have trolled it slower and faster, but this is the suggested range.

Can the lure be trolled in fresh water?

Yes! These lure will work in both salt and fresh water.

Can I put these lures on a planer or downrigger?

You can use a planer to bring the lure deeper. It trolls a few feet below the surface without any extra weight.

Does it come pre-rigged?

Yes. It comes with 100lb mono and a 7/0 J hook. You can re-rig the lure and follow the instructions on the back of the packaging.

How do you change the bodies?

The body sides fit into the head of the lure, which then snaps into place. We have instructions on the package of how to change the body, but you can also watch this video for a quick how-to:

How durable is the lure?

The head is a polycarbonate, which is durable. The bodies are polyester, and in the event a toothy fish tears the body, Sea Lime has created a quick-change body system enabling you to be back in the water for the next catch. We’ve been able to re-use a lure body even after catching a fish, and it just depends on every strike. The lure does ride up the line, which can also save the lure body for the next fish.

Can I buy replacement bodies?

Yes. We sell a pack of three replacement bodies for $19 plus tax.

Can I buy replacement heads?

No. Currently we do not sell the heads separately.

Can I buy the lure without the leader and hook?

No. We sell it pre-rigged with 100 lb mono and we also plan to rig with 120 lb steel this summer. You can re-rig as needed, but it’s helpful to see it fully rigged for the best swimming action.

What are the target fish for this lure?

We originally designed the lure for Mahi, King Fish, Wahoo, Cobia, Sharks. But many fresh water anglers plan to fish for Salmon, Pike and Musky. Fishermen have also caught sail fish and just recently a guy in Costa Rica had a blue Marlin smash it.

Do all the lure bodies/patterns fit the same head?

Yes. They’re interchangeable.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes. If don’t see your country listed, please email bright@sealimelures.com.
